Bio

I was born into a very artistic family full of photographers, painters, poets and musicians.
It seems I've had a pencil in my hand since I was old enough to hold one.
I've been fortunate enough to make a living doing what I love for over four decades now.

Life is not without its challenges, however. I've been diagnosed with a chronic disease (ankylosing spondylitis, if you really want to know), a degenerative condition that's not very much fun to live with. Even walking can be a challenge. Nowadays, I can only paint in short stretches, 5 - 10 minutes at a time, before I need to rest and wrap my hands in a heating pad. In other words, I'm disabled. Painting allows me to rise above the pain, if even for a little while. It's absolutely glorious.

Like most creative people I know, we don't like talking about ourselves much. Thanks for reading and thanks for your continued support. Onwards and upwards.

All of my work is born in a hypnagogic, or dreaming, consciousness. Having been a lucid dreamer all my life, I believe it is my responsibility as an artist to coerce these visions back up through the layers of my sleeping brain and to share them with the world.
